Kill Bill, In Real Life


The restaurant where we had the little cocktail hour tonight was the inspiration for Tarantino's major fight scene in "Kill Bill." You may remember that The Bride takes down a lot of men in suits/ninjas/what-have-you in one of the last scenes in the first movie. When we walked into this restaurant tonight and sat down, I was feeling as though something about it was familiar. Later on, someone mentioned that it had not been the set, but at least the idea behind that famous scene. Here's my images of the restaurant, called Gonpachi:

Do you kind of see the resemblance? Maybe not. I don't know, Google it. I was trying to stealthily take pictures and not look like a tourist. I did not do any sweet sword moves while here, though I thought about it.
